Goldtime and MyFitness Dance Awards at Vanemuine

On April 25, Goldtime and MyFitness awards were presented at Vanemuine!

"Culture is a driving and unifying force in society — it broadens boundaries, reflects the spirit of the times, and inspires us to dream bigger. Goldtime’s goal is also to fulfill dreams and be part of the stories that move and connect people. Therefore, it is a special honor for us to support culture by awarding the Goldtime Dance Scholarship for the third year in a row — this year to ballerina Selma Strandberg for her outstanding achievements. Through our contribution, we wish to bring culture closer to the audience and encourage everyone to strive toward their dreams," said Indrek Peterson, the founder of Goldtime.

Tiina Matikainen, CEO of MyFitness, also spoke about the harmony between culture and sports: "Supporting culture is in line with MyFitness’s values. We are pleased to support the professional dancers of Vanemuine Theatre’s ballet troupe and to offer people daily opportunities to improve their lives."

Vanemuine Theatre’s ballet director Jevgeni Grib describes the Goldtime laureate: "Selma Strandberg is a dancer whose journey I have followed since her school days. Even then, she impressed me with her focus, elegance, and deep inner desire to grow. When she graduated from ballet school and secured a place at Vanemuine Theatre, I was delighted — and now, a few years later, we see how she has truly blossomed. She is an inspiring role model in her diligence, attentiveness, and inner growth. Working with Selma is a joy for any coach or choreographer. Her development has been beautiful and natural, and this award is well deserved. Selma is a highly valued dancer in our troupe."

Ballet director Jevgeni Grib also praises the MyFitness laureate: "William Halton is an artist whose work ethic, sincerity, and dedication leave a deep impression. His courage to experiment, make mistakes, and try again shows tremendous inner strength. William is always ready to support his colleagues, sharing his time and energy with others. This season, his artistic development has been remarkable — both as a dancer and as an actor. I am very proud that such a person is part of our troupe. Congratulations, William — this recognition is truly well-deserved!"

The ballet director expresses gratitude and highlights the importance of support from partners: "Heartfelt thanks to our supporters — Goldtime and MyFitness. Your support allows us to recognize our dancers and reflect back to them how valuable they are to us. This support is not just symbolic — it gives energy, faith, and inspiration. Thank you for standing with us and helping to keep the art of dance alive."

Finally, Grib wishes: "A beautiful upcoming International Dance Day to everyone — may the spirit of dance always live within us!"

The Goldtime Ballet Award was presented for the third time. The first ballet award was given to Emily Ward in 2023, and the second to Caroline Maquignon in 2024. The MyFitness award was given to a Vanemuine ballet artist for the first time this year.

The prize includes a scholarship and an engraved Tissot wristwatch from Goldtime, while the MyFitness prize includes, in addition to a financial scholarship, free access to their fitness clubs for an entire year.
